Cable trunking size guide – which size is right for me?

Finding the right cable trunking is easy. Answer 3 questions and we will recommend the right size for you.

Question 1: How many cables do you need to route?

• 1–3 thin cables (up to 4mm) → cable trunking 50 x 12 mm

• 2–5 medium-thickness cables (up to 8mm) → cable trunking 70 x 20 mm

• 5+ cables or thick lines → cable trunking 90 x 20 mm

Question 2: Where will the trunking be installed?

• On the floor (door thresholds, transitions) → tread-resistant, with floor mounting holes

• On the wall → self-adhesive or screw mounting

• Outdoors → UV-resistant, screw mounting recommended

Question 3: Which colour fits?

• White/light surface, office → white (RAL 9016)

• Black/dark surface, workshop → black (RAL 9005)

• Grey floor, industry → grey (RAL 7035)

Size table: trunking 50x12mm – approx. 3–5 cables – desk/TV area. Trunking 70x20mm – approx. 5–8 cables – office/practice/living area. Trunking 90x20mm – approx. 8–12 cables – workshop/industry/commercial use.
